Using Technology with Math!

Using technology with math is a great way to keep students engaged and having fun!

Students can use technology in math class!  I LOVE having a class set of Chromebooks sitting in my classroom for me to use when I am ready for my students to practice.  I have found some amazing websites for them to practice on.

The first site that I have them use is Moby Max! There is both a free version and a paid version! I love that I am able to have my students compete on teams!  This encourages some great competition, and entices them to "play" a lot!!  They want to win, so they keep practicing! I LOVE that I am able to set certain standards for them to work on too!!

The next site that I have my students use multiple times a week is Accelerated Math!  I LOVED AR, and the math sides is just as amazing!! I have my kids work on their facts here, and I love that it has them continue to practice until they have mastered the fact that they are on.  I am able to use their math grade equivalent scores to set certain assignments as well to target where they are, and what they need help with!! Then I can set deadlines of when they need to have these assignments done! It is a GREAT way to differentiate for my students to reach them where they are.

Another great site that I use my with my kids is Cool Math games.  This site has a ton of games that students are able to practice different skills on, and they have fun.  They like this site because they have more say over which skill they get to practice, and they believe it is more fun.  They like this site because they have more say over which skill they get to practice, and they believe it is more fun.

Having my students practice these skills in different ways is exactly what they need.  We do hands on activities in class, worksheets as review and warm ups, but playing "games" to practice is exactly what they need when they can't get this extra practice at home!

I hope that you find some of these websites useful in your classroom too! I would LOVE to hear other sites that you use with your class!!
